UN Global Compact Network Georgia held a discussion on digital Safety for children

On February 12, in connection with Safer Internet Day, an important discussion was held on the topic of “Empowering Children’s Rights in the Digital World”. The event took place within the framework of the European Union Integration Platform of the UN Global Compact Network Georgia.

The organizers of the event — UN Global Compact Network Georgia and UNICEF Georgia — aimed to bring together representatives of the digital industry to discuss issues of online safety for children. The primary objective of the discussion was to create a safer and more age-appropriate online environment for children in Georgia.

The meeting was attended by members of the Internet Society Georgia, including:

  • Rati Skhirtladze, Founder of Enagram.ai
  • Konstantin Stalinsky, Internet media specialist, co-founder, and Board member of ISOC Georgia.

During the meeting, several significant issues were addressed:

  • Current Initiatives of the Private Sector for ensuring online safety for children.
  • The Role of Companies in improving the digital environment and the challenges they face in promoting safer internet usage.
  • The Need for Support to strengthen corporate involvement in this direction.

This meeting represents a step forward in enhancing the protection and safety of children’s rights in the digital world, emphasizing the crucial role of the private sector in this endeavor.
